July Tweetup
Sorry for taking so long to get this up. I don’t think it’ll be as long as my write up for last month’s tweetup, mostly because we talked a lot of local politics this month which went way over my head. Shawn and I made fun of each other instead. Actually, he just made fun of me.
I did have a great time though and I’m still the cheerleader for our tweetups. This one was bigger than last month, for sure, though I don’t think anyone got a head count. We were out on the deck upstairs at ABC Harrisburg on a gorgeous night. Perfect weather for a tweetup. The reason for the slight change of location was that the Harrisburg Young Professionals Kickball League (or whatever it’s called) decends upon ABC after their games on Thursdays. Dan Victor was there to bridge the gap though and I got to meet some of his friends who happen to be kickball allstars just like him.
I met a bunch of new people and have discovered a few things.
I met Rob Rowe, Matt Shandera (and wife), Andy Enders, Ed Grohl and @mattyfo, whose name is probably Matt, but because @jerseymike (who will forever be known as jerseymike) refuses to use real names, I have no idea. I was not the only double X chromosome which was cool and I met @dani_PA who actually just doesn’t have a last name as she is in pre-marriage name limbo (aka she’s engaged. Congrats!) and I met the infamous Sara Bozich who finally made it to a tweetup, winning a fake bet for JerseyMike. I met the writer (? editor? whatever?) of MODE Magazine. His name might be Scott, but he was only around for about 5 minutes so I don’t really remember. I met other people too, but embarassingly, I don’t remember who they are– especially the kickballers. Except Doug. Because I told him that signing up for twitter would probably be an unhealthy decision.
I had a great time. We talked about local politics, the new iphone, plurk, and a lot of other stuff that I can’t remember now too. I stayed pretty late until most of the twitterers had left except for Dan, Andy and even JerseyMike came back out for a while to hang out with us and the kickballers. I’m really glad I stayed. For me, the night only got better as it went on :)
As expected, I can’t wait for next month… there’s a possibility of cake, but you didn’t hear that from me.

Wow, you remembered names much better than I did. I had to star your post in Google Reader, just to remember them all.
I’m glad I came, but yeah, the politics talk was mostly over my head.

1. Yes, nice job remembering names! I probably won’t keep them straight for next time, though.
2. I’m infamous?
3. And it’s Scot, who is the Publisher of Mode – if you wanted to know.
:)
