Coming Soon: Strands Plug!!!
My newest web 2.0 toy is Strands. iJustine tweeted about is so like a good little fangirl I headed over to check it out. For some reason her invite code wouldn’t work, but I got an invite code from a developer within 10 minutes and I was all set. I’ll be doing a write up in a few days when I feel more comfortable with it and when I am trying really hard not to study.
So far I like it so I can’t imagine it’ll be a negative review, especially because they are sending me a free tshirt. I was emailing one of the team members for a while trying to figure something out and we hadn’t quite solved it by the time he was done for the day so he’s sending me a shirt. I’m pretty excited about it. There are some glitches, for sure, but it’s still in beta and I am digging it already despite these so I’m hoping it’s successful.
I’ll stop here because I want to have stuff to say for my actual write up, and also, I’m getting tired.
Also, because it’s a beta and not everyone can go play with it on their own, I’d like to try to incorporate screen shots… except I have no idea how to do that. Can someone explain to me how to take a screen shot on a PC in firefox? that would be great.

[...] Kathleen’s blog needs a much better title {July 31, 2008} Social Networking Addict I sent out over 40 tweets in the past 24 hours. That’s disgusting. Can you tell I’m trying to avoid studying? I also spent some time Plurking (though not a lot.. as my twitter community has become more interactive I’ve started using Plurk a bit less. Still a fan, though. This is my 2nd blog post and I also dove into a new web 2.0 site, Strands (see previous post). [...]

Hey Kathleen. I found you through a Summize search for “Strands”; I’ve been trying to get an invite. If you have any left to share I’d greatly appreciate it :) Thanks.

If you want to take a screenshot in Windoze through Firefox (although this command isn’t browser-specific), you can hit the following:
CTRL + Print Screen = will screen shot the entire screen
ALT + Print Screen = will screen shot only the active window
Then, go to where ever you want to paste the shot to and CTRL + V. Voila!
